Beyond Barock

Always on the lookout for new concert formats, the horn quartet german hornsound now presents a special kind of experience with the BEYOND BAROCK program.

Musically, contemporary original compositions commissioned and written by and for german hornsound are juxtaposed with the most beautiful works from the Baroque period. Works by the composers Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann and Georg Friedrich Händel will be performed

The original literature for horn quartet has produced some wonderful new works in the 20th century. In addition, german hornsound has been working for years on further developing the literature by arranging its own works and commissioning new compositions from contemporary composers. Some works were commissioned especially for this program. For example, Thorsten Encke’s Foreboding, with which the four horn players from four different corners of the hall will open the second half, a new work by Ukrainian-born composer and cellist Eduard Resatsch and the Barocco Jazz Suite by Peter Lehel, which was written for german hornsound and fits perfectly with this program both formally and stylistically.

Let yourself be carried away into the world of the Baroque with old and new arrangements that convey a new and exciting listening impression with four horns and get to know great and exciting contemporary music in an experience format with the new program from german hornsound:
